The Bosch S6 features AGM technology (Absorbent Glass Mat), which is one of the latest technologies on the market today. Dynamic recharging capability and up to 4 times the number of discharge / charge cycles compared to conventional starter batteries means that the Bosch S6 with AGM technology meets the toughest requirements. This is a must for start-stop systems but also for vehicles with a high number of electrical convenience functions.

Why must AGM Batteries be Fitted in Start-Stop Systems?

People may try to cut corners on the replacement of AGM batteries as they can be two to three times more expensive than a standard lead acid battery. Vehicles with start-stop systems need a battery, which has a high deep cycle resistance and optimal charge acceptance. Failure to install the correct battery can result in vehicle system breakdown. You cannot replace an AGM battery with a conventional battery.
